Family, Community and Covenant House

When Mike first went on a tour of Covenant House, he was mystified. “I just couldn’t believe that people would kick their kids out. Your family is supposed to be the place where you are surrounded by love. These kids didn’t have that.” Crediting his parents for his deep sense of service, Mike felt compelled to do something, even something small, to make life for a homeless young person a little easier. “Any small thing counts.”

At Covenant House Pennsylvania, we believe advocacy is a critical element in our fight to end youth homelessness. To that end, we strive to get our message out to the public through various media outlets: digital, audio, and print. Click the button below to see those efforts.

Sleep Out: Young Professional Edition comes through for our Youth
On March 24, 2017, Covenant House Pennsylvania held its 3rd Annual Sleep Out: Young Professional Edition. 143 sleepers raised an astonishing $146,245 and counting for runaway, homeless, and trafficked youth throughout the Philadelphia region.

Brewing a Successful Partnership
On September 29, 2016, National Coffee Day, McDonald’s Restaurants of the Greater Philadelphia Region pledged to donate 100 percent of all McCafe drip coffee proceeds to Covenant House Pennsylvania. To say that the event was a success would be an understatement. On that day, just over $20,000 was raised to support the vital work done by Covenant House Pennsylvania.
