On April 28, 2017, Covenant House Pennsylvania held it's first annual Sleep Out: Women Unite Edition. This year's event had 44 female sleepers who raised an astonishing $52,000 and counting for runaway, homeless, and trafficked youth throughout the Philadelphia region. This broke the goal set in it's very first year! A big thank you goes out to our Sleep Out Committee of Bet Dolaway, Carolyn Jacobs, Mary Dolaway, and Michele Dolaway. Thank you for helping to bring Sleep Out: Women Unite to Covenant House Pennsylvania.

At this inaugural event, we were honored to have Ann Oskowis with us. At nearly 90 years old, Ann is the most senior sleeper ever to participate in any Sleep Out across all the Covenant House sites. Ann, who as child during the Great Depression was homeless for three years with her family, slept out through a storm in a cardboard box in our parking lot.

Here's how Fox 29 News covered the story
