AmerisourceBergen is a True Champion for Homeless Youth

Our partners at AmerisourceBergen are exceptional friends to Covenant House Pennsylvania. Over this year alone, they have supported both our Executive and Young Professional Sleep Outs with ABC teams raising more than $100,000. They invited Covenant House Pennsylvania youth to participate in career workshops at their company headquarters in Conshohoken and the ABC team came to our Crisis Center to help our youth with resume writing and mock interviewing. They also ran a career wardrobe drive and donated new socks for our young people.

On March 16, 2017, AmerisourceBergen sponsored our Annual Basketball Tournament. ABC Associates played alongside our staff as four teams went head-to-head for the annual tournament championship. The Program Staff team took home their first tournament victory that night and everyone had great fun competing for the coveted Covenant House Pennsylvania trophy.

"It was a wonderful night,” said Helen Hammerschmidt, Executive Director of the AmerisourceBergen Foundation and Manager of Community Relations. “I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face watching the kids just have a blast! Our folks had a great time too. All in all, it was a huge success." The company has already committed to sponsoring and participating in next year’s tournament.
