In Kind Donation Needs

There are so many ways to support our youth and efforts to combat the homelessness epidemic. In addition to monitary donations, we are always accepting donations of items on behalf of our young people. Below are different needs we have and things we can accept at this time.

Please be aware that due to concerns such as COVID-19 and limited storage space at the moment, we are only requesting items that we will be able to immediately and safely distribute. If you have questions about a donation not listed here or a drive that you wish to organize, please contact development@covenanthousepa.org to ensure that it is something that we're able to accept.

Due to safety and staffing concerns, all donations must be mailed or dropped off at our shelter at a time scheduled with our Development Team.  They can be reached at development@covenanthousepa.org or (215) 951-5411. We appreciate your understanding during this challenging time.

Thank you!

Wish Lists

Our Amazon Charity lists feature our most pressing needs for the youth in our shelter, transitional housing, and our street outreach efforts.

Shelter Wish List

When youth come to Covenant House, they are arriving from a variety of difficult situations. Our goal is to stabilize their situation and meet their immediate needs, which can include food, shelter, clothing, health care, etc., as we work with them toward longer term stability. Our Shelter Wish List includes items that we most commonly need for these youth.

Outreach Wish List

Our Outreach Team goes out into neighborhoods, parks and other places where youth facing homelessness seek refuge to offer them food and counseling in order to build trust and a relationship that will encourage them to come to Covenant House. The Outreach Wish List is made up of mainly food items that are most desperately needed by youth in these situations.

Rights of Passage (Transitional Housing) Wish List

Our transitional living programs, often referred to as “Rights of Passage” or ROP, are where youth take their boldest steps toward independence. Youth live in ROP for up to 18 months, while they build basic life skills and financial literacy, participate in educational and vocational programs, seek employment with long-term advancement and career prospects, and work toward moving into their own safe and stable housing. The ROP Wish List contains items that youth need most when moving into their very own apartment.

Amazon Smile

Gift Card Donations

Gift Cards are a wonderful way to ensure that our staff and youth can purchase items that meet their individual immediate needs. And they have the added bonus of not taking up any of our much needed storage space!

Gift card donations can be accepted at any time. The list below includes vendors that most often meet the needs of our youth. Each link will take you to a page where you can purchase gift cards. You can either drop these cards off yourself or have them sent directly to our address:

Donation Drives

Donation drives are a wonderful way to get your workplace, school, neighborhood or organization involved in giving back! We have needs throughout the year and are eager to work with you in organizing and supporting these efforts.

Since our needs can change at any time, please contact us at development@covenanthousepa.org before you begin to collect items. We will be happy to talk with you about items to collect, how to promote your efforts, arranging delivery, and any other support you may need.

All drop off donations must be scheduled with the Development Team ahead of time to ensure that someone will be available to accept your items. Please reach out to them at development@covenanthousepa.org or at (215) 951-5411.

Successful drives could include:

-New coats and winter gear

-Toiletries and hygene products

-Undergarments and socks

-Blankets and linens

-Non-perishable food items

-Baby products for new mothers

-And more!

Due to health concerns, we prefer new items whenever possible. We will NOT be able to accept used clothing, used mattresses, or opened or expired food or personal care products. If you have any questions about our policy, please contact us at development@covenanthousepa.org. We thank you for your understanding.
