Information about Human Trafficking:

Human Trafficking is modern-day slavery. Victims of human trafficking are subject to force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of sexual exploitation or forced labor. Victims are young children, teenagers, men and women.

Approximately 600,000 to 800,000 victims are trafficked annually across international borders worldwide according to U.S. government estimates. More than half of these victims worldwide are children, according to the U.S. Department of State.

Domestic Trafficking is a major problem even within the United States. Our work in this area has shown us that we have a problem with human trafficking in our own backyard. Many young people are forcibly being trafficked up and down the east coast for purposes of prostitution, and are not able to get out of these situations.

Covenant House Pennsylvania's Street Outreach Team is part of the Philadelphia Anti-Trafficking Coalition. You can learn about the work of our Street Outreach Team HERE.
