CHPA has an on-site clinic for its youth which provides a complete array of services. These services include basic health screenings and more complicated supportive services for those in need. This site is administered by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. As a result the youth have an immediate connection to the CHOP hospital services as well as those in the surrounding community. The clinic includes a full time Health Educator and part time Doctor and Nurse Practitioner. The clinic staff also consists of a full time Stress Reduction Specialist, who is trained in eastern medicine and alternative healing.
Our Doctor, Ken Ginsburg, M.D., is a nationally recognized pediatrician specializing in adolescent medicine, and serves as the clinic’s director. In addition, the Dr. Ginsburg brings a host of Student Interns who do 3- 6 week rotations at the agency. This is in an effort to enhance their understanding of Homeless youth and to increase the youth’s trust of health practitioners. This has been an extremely beneficial relationship. |
